Busy Phillips Morning Routine Is Sweaty!

We love to hear that actresses are just like us (even though we still strongly suspect that they’re not). Busy Phillips, who has been in the spotlight since the 1990s when she was on Freaks and Geeks and Dawson’s Creek, has grown from a teen fave to a hilarious, funny, and confident woman and mom in her own right, who makes us laugh all the more because of how relatable and down-to-Earth she seems. But how does she do it? Busy recently talked to WellandGood.com about how she gets going every morning (it isn’t easy!) and what keeps her going throughout the day.

It all starts with coffee. We can all relate to that, right? Busy jumped on the Bulletproof coffee train long ago – it’s a West Coast trend that calls for coffee to be mixed with a combination of butter or ghee fats and other nutrients. So when she gets up – at some point between 6 and 7am – she immediately makes herself a cup with the branded coffee, and adds the butter, as well as protein, MCT oil, and collagen. It’s basically breakfast and coffee all in one.

It’s a good thing she gets both, because around 9am Busy heads to LEKFit, which, in her own words, is “the best workout I’ve ever done in my life.” Lauren Kleban used to be a professional dancer before she started the studio, which gets both cardio and strength training in, and employs a lot of dance and trampoline moves. Sounds like fun, right? More like brutal. “It’s hard,” Lauren concedes. “A lot of my clients say they love me in the beginning, they hate me during the workout, and they love me again after.” However, Busy says that the routine leaves her a calmer and more focused person, and a better friend and mother. And in the end, those are all goals we can relate to!
