Teen Bullied For Her Dark Skin Is Taking The Internet By Storm With Modeling

While we are children, we often just want to “fit in” with the other kids. Many people have a hard time growing out of this habit, just wanting to be like everyone else. It’s the differences between us and our unique traits, looks, habits, and personalities that make us special and make life worth living, so why just “fit in?”

19-year-old Senegalese model Khoudia Diop has recently come to embrace her uniqueness, despite being teased as a child for what made her stand out. Now calling herself a “Melanin Goddess” Diop is drop dead gorgeous, and as an amazingly beautiful dark skin tone on top of that!

Remarkably dark, Diop has garnered attention due to her skin color her whole life. “I was teased a lot growing up, because of my skin tone,” said Diop. Like the true goddess she is, she never let bullies keep her down just because she looked different than them.

“Growing up, I faced it by confronting the bullies. As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people,” remarks Diop.

Diop broke onto the modeling scene only two years ago at the age of 17 but is proving to the world that our differences are exactly what make us beautiful, not standards set by the media. With her work as a model, she hopes to spread that message to women everywhere.

Says Diop, “The message I have for my sisters is that how you look doesn’t matter, as long as you feel beautiful inside.”
