Quick Cash: Clean Out Your Closets

The end of the year is approaching quickly, and as we get closer to December, we want to focus on saving for the holidays. This is also a great time to do some seasonal cleaning while you get your home “holiday ready”. So this month, the challenge is simple: clean out your closets and make some extra holiday cash while you’re at it.

The purpose of this is twofold. One: you’ll get rid of all the junk that’s just been collecting dust in your closets, and make room for your cold weather wardrobe.  Two, you’ll earn some extra cash to pay for holiday expenses, from travel to parties to presents. Plus, you may find some items you forgot about that could possibly serve to be regifted- thus saving even more money!

So schedule some time this month to go through your closets and cupboards and gather all of your unwanted items, whether it’s an old phone you’ve been meaning to resell or a bunch of clothes you will never, ever wear. Donate what you can’t sell, then plan a garage sale or list your stuff on eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, or any of the many apps that let you flip your stuff for cash such as Letgo. (Tip: check out eBay’s completed listings to get an idea of what your item will go for).
