Redditor Proves These Unbelievable LEGO Instructions From The 1970s Are In Fact Real

Today LEGO is probably one of the most recognized toy brands worldwide. The Danish company started creating building bricks that snapped into each other in 1949, and since then has continuously grown to be a massive empire that is loved by all. The toy brand itself isn’t just a toy anymore, but a franchise. It has theme parks, retail stores, and even movies built around the iconic toys.

Through its growth and $15 billion value as a company, LEGO has more or less still remained true to its roots. Lego bricks are all about building and creating and letting your imagination take you away. The toy has always appealed to children of young ages because it allows them to use their imagination and use their tactile skills to build something all their own.

Despite gender marketing of today, pushing pink flowery dolls on little girls and blue and black race cars to boys, LEGO has historically refrained to do just that, maintaining the building and creating knows no gender. Just look at this instruction pamphlet that used to come in Lego sets from the 1970s. A Reddit user found the note and shared it with the internet community, many of whom agreed that the message itself sounded like the very moral of The Lego Movie that was recently released in 2014.

Some Reddit users doubted the authenticity of the letter, saying that the simplicity and font choice of the letter made it look fake. However, when PopSugar reached out to Lego directly about the letter, spokesperson Roar Rude Trangbæk confirmed that it was authentic and those pamphlets were in fact distributed in playsets for girls from the 1970s.

“Yes, the text is from 1974”, said Trangbæk, “And was a part of a pamphlet showing a variety of LEGO doll house products targeted to girls aged four and up from the 1970s.” Even though in the 1970s and today, there are still sets “for girls” and “for boys,” Lego knows that creativity should know no bounds!

Loyal Cat Returns To Owner’s Grave Everyday For One Year To Grieve

If you’re a pet owner, you’ve surely had a moment where you truly believe that you and your pet understand each other… Despite there being a language barrier. That bond is apparent when you look at dogs with their owners. Dogs show their love for their masters and even random strangers on their furry sleeves.

Cats, however, get a bad reputation for being aloof, unattached, and perhaps seeing humans as their servants, rather than masters. In reality, cats are loving, sweet beings who love us as much as we love them. One poor cat in Indonesia serves as a shining, yet heartbreaking, example of just how strong a connection cats can have with us.

What appeared to be a stray cat in a field in Central Java, Indonesia perplexed locals who tried to feed it and give it a home. Keli Keningau Prayitno heard the kitty meowing loudly as she passed by the area and went to investigate. Prayitno took the cat home, hoping to adopt it, but the next day the cat went back to the same area she found it in. Other people who noticed that cat tried to feed her or lure her away, but to no avail.

When Prayitno realized that the cat was returning to her old owner’s grave, they soon came to terms with the fact that the cat was grieving and inconsolable. “She sleeps there and meows, ” said Prayitno. “It’s very sad to see. It shows just how close animals are to their owners.” The only time the cat will leave the grave is to be fed by her old human’s family, returning back to the grave soon after.

The grieving cat has been glued to her owner’s grave for over a year now. Hopefully time will heal all wounds for the feline.

Secluded Library Nestled In The Woods Of Upstate New York Is Any Book Lover’s Dream

If you watched Beauty and the Beast and yearned more for the library than the prince, we have found the place for you. A place all to yourself and filled with books. Could such a wondrous land exist? Yes. Who needs a crowded cafe when you can read in peace and quiet.

The little black cabin was built by a United States Design firm called Studio Padron. The structure  is actually a library and guest house all rolled into one and is located in the woods of upstate New York. The structure is called Hemmelig Rom, which is Norwegian for “secret room”.

The whole structure is crafted from the oak trees that were cut down to make room for the main house. “The strategy for the cottage centered on preserving and transforming a material that would otherwise have become construction waste,” explained Brandon Padron. The cut oak was then dried for several years. Those logs now form the cabin’s walls. That’s where the magic happens!

The gaps between the logs form the bookshelves inside the cabin. Inside of the book nook, there’s also a bed, an armchair, a desk and a wood-burning. What more could you need? Except maybe tea kettle and some fresh snow falling outside to seriously up the cozy factor?

Plus being situated in the woods means there pretty terrible cell service. So sit back, unplug, unwind and read.

The ‘Bun Drop’ Hair Trend Is Confusingly Mesmerizing And Is Taking Over Instagram

Instagram and the internet in general creates some pretty weird fads. Remember the one where people put cucumbers behind their unsuspecting cats, and it scared the bejesus out of them? Or, what about planking? The list goes on and on, and this next big trend is one part weird and two parts mesmerizing.

It’s fatalistically simple; girls and women with extremely long hair- like “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let-down-your-hair long” – have their hair in messy buns and then they take it down. That’s it. It’s called a bun-drop, and while it sounds really, really stupid, it’s impossible not to enjoy watching these videos.

As the girls take out whatever is holding up their hair such as hair ties, chopsticks or bobby pins, they slow-motion shake out their long, silky luscious hair. And, it is nothing short of hypnotic.

Check out the following videos if you don’t believe us. We predict you’ll be searching the hashtag soon for more slow-motion, dangling locks clips. Our personal favorite is the one done outside by a girl dressed all in black. The unnamed girl in the video even has a perfect ombre. Unimaginable envy!
